
Brett O'Riley

Ochre’s Managing Director, Brett O'Riley, has been closely involved in the Asia-Pacific telecoms infrastructure business since 1989. He was a member of the initial team that developed the Southern Cross Cable system between Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the United States of America. Southern Cross is globally recognised as an outstanding success story in how to develop an independent wholesaler of broadband capacity.
Brett also looked after the North American market and related projects for Southern Cross, and later was a founder of Nava Networks, which was established to develop broadband opportunities in the region. Most recently Brett has been in senior roles at Telecom NZ, managing ICT merger and acquisition activity, and the corporate mobile market. His working experience also includes working for the NZ government and originally as a journalist.
Brett is internationally recognised for his broad knowledge of the submarine cable industry and is a regular speaker at major industry conferences including the Pacific Telecommunications Council and Submarine Networks.
In his spare time Brett likes to spend time with his wife Robyne and their two children Alanna and James. Brett is also involved in the administration of international professional bowls, still plays bowls himself occasionally, and is an aspiring karaoke singer!
